Are You Looking For Online Support To Cope With Fear And Anxiety?
Has your sense of security been compromised as a result of COVID-19 or another major life change? Are you trying to live a normal life under the current circumstances? Maybe you were already in therapy, and you’re worried you won’t be able to continue. Or you might recognize that you need help during these trying times, but you aren’t sure if online therapy can really provide the support and guidance you need right now.
Are fear and anxiety causing you to feel depressed, hopeless, lost and confused? As these feelings build, you may notice they’re harming your sleep, focus, work performance and relationships. It may be that you’ve started questioning yourself or your resolve, leaving you increasingly anxious and overwhelmed by self-doubt. Or you might be concerned that you’ll lose your job or savings, and now you’re scrambling to figure out how you’ll support your family’s health and wellbeing. On the other hand, you may live alone and the isolation from having to confine yourself at home has left you overwhelmed by fears about your own safety because you feel no one will be there to help you during an urgent situation.
Do you wish you knew how to work through these fears and anxiety so you could calm down and feel like yourself again during the current crisis?
Everyone Reacts Differently To Stressful Situations
Many people experience anxiety from time to time. However, during pressing situations such as COVID-19, fear and anxiety levels are bound to increase. If you already suffer from anxiety, the symptoms may get worse as you cope with increased worries about your health and that of your loved ones. On top of health concerns, which are difficult enough, you may start to panic about your financial future, your job or business, and the repercussion this will have on the economy.
These are normal reactions to any major life change, and it’s natural to have doubts and fears during the current global outbreak. If you don’t know how to manage distressing thoughts and feelings, they are going to take a toll on your mind and body. However, it’s important to understand and accept that you’re not being weak or irrational. And there are things you can do to manage your fear and anxiety during pressing times.
Online therapy, or teletherapy, can help you process the questions and concerns you have so you can identify the primary source of your stress and begin taking concrete steps to regain a sense of control in your life.
You Can Find The Support You Need With Online Therapy
Treating your anxiety, depression, and panic attacks with online counseling will help you manage and cope with your current situation through patient, compassionate support from the comfort of your own home. By teaching you the skills you need to change your thinking, you’ll also learn to react to new challenges and situations in a more positive, productive way.
During our first session, you’ll have the opportunity to share your experience without fear of judgment or criticism. My main focus is to understand how your thoughts, feelings, and emotions are interacting with your physiology. Together, we’ll explore underlying sources of stress, past trauma and current situations that are triggering feelings of anxiety or panic attacks. By discussing what situations are causing you the most fear and anxiety—and how you’re reacting to them—I can tailor my approach to your specific needs and goals.
In the following sessions, I’ll work with you to implement coping strategies that will give you a sense of control over your fears and concerns. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) will help you identify unrealistic thoughts so you can learn to challenge unhealthy beliefs and change how you react to them. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and imagery rescripting will help you visualize, identify and transform past traumatic memories and experiences to weaken the effect of negative emotions. By incorporating these research-supported treatment approaches in a personalized way, you can modulate the levels of anxiety in your life so you can be more productive, calm and supportive of others.
It’s important to understand that some things are out of our control during trying times. Rather than trying to change the world around you, you can learn new skills and strategies to take care of your physical and mental health. Together, we’ll make a plan for the things you can control, allowing you to gain a sense of security and self-confidence that can help reduce some of the anxiety and fears that have left you feeling so overwhelmed.
As part of our work together, I will encourage you to choose your news carefully. There’s a lot of misinformation circulating that can lead to confusion and escalate fear and anxiety. By finding the most reliable information on the current crisis, you can reduce sources of stress and feel more prepared and informed as you work to process and address challenges.

You may be considering online therapy or teletherapy but have some concerns…
How effective is online therapy for treating anxiety, depression and panic attacks?
- Recent studies have found that online counseling is as effective as an in-person treatment for anxiety, panic disorder, and depression.* And in the seven years I have provided online treatment, many clients have told me how pleased they were with the comfort level of the sessions.
How does online treatment work?
Online treatment for anxiety is discreet and provides you with complete privacy and confidentiality. I use VSee as my HIPAA compliant video platform that is bound by local and federal laws. I conduct all sessions from my private study, and I would suggest you choose a safe, quiet environment free of interruptions. When it is time for your session, you or I will call on VSee and I will respond as if we made a telephone call to each other. We will then start the session and we will be connected face to face, just like we would be if we were meeting in person.
Is online counseling for anxiety covered by insurance?
Yes. The State of Washington has mandated that all Washington insurance companies provide coverage for online counseling treatment.
